Beijing Drives Inner Mongolia Tourism Through Cultural and Tourism Initiative

On August 16, 2024, more than 100 cars set off from Beijing to embark on a 12-day, 2,000-kilometer journey across the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. This event, part of a collaborative culture and tourism initiative between Beijing and Inner Mongolia, aims to strengthen bilateral ties, boost cultural and tourism consumption, and foster resource sharing, visitor exchange, and brand development between the two regions.

The initiative will feature various promotional and business matchmaking events designed to help Inner Mongolia better integrate its resources, expand its tourism market, and support local rural revitalization efforts.

According to data from the popular travel platform Mafengwo, Inner Mongolia has emerged as a top destination for self-driving travelers. In response, local authorities are focusing on developing more distinctive and safe routes to enhance the travel experience.

The launch ceremony of this self-driving tour underscores the commitment to boosting tourism in Inner Mongolia and creating new opportunities for cultural and economic growth.
